I have a Gigabyte Ga-ma770-ud3 motherboard and just got a asus xonar dx pci-e sound card and it wont slot into the pci-e x1 slot.

Bascially the pci-e x1 slots are lower than the other slots so it doesnt go all the way in - the bracket is lined up with the other cards but because the slots are lower its not actually in the slot properly (and no i didnt run it because of this).

I guess it would work if i removed the bracket of the sound card that screws into case but i dont really want to do that, any suggestions?

You can slot it into any other free psi-e slots as well including x8 and x16. Not sure what's wrong though.

unfortunately there are only pci-e x1 slots left and they are all lower than the other slots :( , Back to using my audigy value pci, doh

Yep just put it in my i7 no issues slotted in fine, so either its the motherboard (unlikely as we would have heard about it) or its the case.

I guess it doesnt matter as it was destined for my i7 until i had to rma the m/b so all good.
