It's an EFI-X that he plugged directly into a Front USB header, then booted off of it like a normal HDD. It loaded up a bootloader which he could choose the OS he wanted to.

It seems like an extremely expensive item too. I just looked up the price on it.

They're pretty darned rare. Especially now with the system being EOL for a couple years. I was pretty shocked when he destroyed that to make it. Makes some sense though seeing as he didn't know how rare it was. Too bad, he may have been able to fund much of that whole thing had he known and then sold it, even in non-working condition.

It's a bending brake, they're not really that expensive. I'm planning on picking one up once I get into a place with a garage or shop of some kind.
