XBox network play through router?

I'm on a dorm network w/ a few computers and an XBox behind a Linksys BEFSR41 router. I'm trying to play Halo 2 on the dorm network w/ other rooms in the building. I know this is possible if you plug straight into the wall and register the Xbox's MAC. I have the internet up and running (the linksys has a registered MAC) and have tried putting the XBox in DMZ and still cannot see games on the dorm network. Anyone know how to get this to work?

correct me if im wrong so your dorm has a router that gives each computer plugged into the wall an ip, then you have a router that splits it further so you can have more than one device correct? if thats so im pretty sure all xboxs have to be on the same device, so i dont think you can play through a router to another router of xboxs i might be wrong but im pretty sure thats what it is.
