From a press release:
Xbox 360 announced widespread enthusiasm from the world’s leading video-game publishers for “Project Natal,” a whole new way to play — no controller required. Developers across the globe have embraced the technology and have begun work on titles that will deliver extraordinary entertainment experiences for everyone to enjoy.

im not too thrilled about this. I enjoy relaxing /w a controller on the couch killing stuff. Not jumping around like an idiot. I tried the Wii and hated every aspect. And this i doubt will be any better for me.

I will enjoy this mostly for voice recognition and a few hand gestures. Playing trivia games or and controlling movies without picking-up/finding a control/remote sounds great.

Although some great motion gesture games do come to mind. I'm sure I will buy this becuase I love all kinds of video games.

Call me old-fashioned, but I prefer a keyboard and mouse for gaming.

If I want to exercise, I'll play the sports that I do..kthx.

Agreed. This type of tech might spell the end of gaming for me. If I'm going to be jumping all over the place to play a game it will be outside doing the actual activity rather than pretending to do it in my living room.

I won't be jumping, but Natal can be used for interactive research, too, not just gaming.

Imagine passing a research report to a friend overseas without doing much more then waving the paper over a camera...

I don't necessarily see why its forcing you to switch over?

Lazy bastards up in this thread. There's a world outside of your moms basement you know.

I'm looking forward to Natal.

I actually see this technology going much further outside of recreation, I'd love to use similar technology in Microsoft Office software or when I'm doing research. I just like the Natal demo of going through the movie listing, will make it handy since I hate looking of the remote.

Regarding games, they are going to have to retink their strategy. Once 3D games came out, EVERYONE tried to switch to it, which killed lots of great games. Eventually, someone will figure out the best types of games that will work w/ Natal and we'll use those and controllers for others.
