Wonder if this is a reaction to dwindling customers (MS kickback).

To be honest, I never play online and don't even really need XBL but I still renew it because I can get it for $40 a year. If I really had to pay $60, then I flat out would not subscribe to it.

I use netflix often through Xbox but I could easily use the blu ray player that is attached to that same TV.

FWIW I bought a 360 3 weeks ago at BestBuy and they also sold me a 12 month Live card for $39.99.
