I would love to see some photos of the 360 running on that resolution. I've been told that you don't really notice the vertical stretching and I'm quite skeptical. Can anyone show me photos of any obvious stretching that bothers you? I'm planning to buy the console and it would run on my 22" LCD. Thanks.

I recently got an xbox and having it running on a 1680x1050 VX2025 through the MS vga cord

i remember dying to see what it looked like before i got it, but couldnt find any which was extremely frusterating

so... il post some pics!

outputting as 1280x720 rather than 1360x768 looks better.

probably because my lcd has a better scaler than the 360 has. /dell 2007wfp

I also have a 2007WFP and I prefer 1360x768 over any of the other widescreen resolutions...

edit- btw, running the 360 @1680x1050 is not an option

I have a BenQ FP241WZ with latest firmware. When outputting 1080p from the 360 via VGA... the monitor reports that it is actually displaying 1680x1050 res. The picture doesn't seem to be downscaled, in 1:1 it just appears as a 1680x1050 picture with the sides cut off. I can provide pictures if necessary.

Has MS released a software update that I'm not aware of? I'm just wondering how you guys are getting the 360 to run 1680x1050.....unless of course you mean 1680x1050 in the same way that 22" 1440x900 monitors are advertised as "1080p" ;)

There seems to be some severe problem either with the Benq monitor itself, the 360 itself, or both because the monitor will not output true 1080p for the 360. Instead, when you set the 360 to 1080p, the monitor will default to 1680x1050. I've actually managed to get the monitor to, at the very least, state that it's outputting 1080p, but the truth is that there is no way what I was looking at was 1080p; The screen horribly overscans and stretches when it says it's outputting 1080p.

Well, what I meant to say is that the 360 doesn't support 1680x1050 or the 16:10 ratio of widescreen desktop monitors. In other words...feeding a different resolution/ratio into your monitor and letting it scale to it's native res is not the same as "running the 360 @1680x1050"
