Should the above cpu work with a x99 Sabertooth board? I know the the cpu is not listed as being supported but I don't see why it wouldn't work. I am looking for cheap quad core for a x99 board for a server. Thoughts on if it's may or may not work?
 
I ran that combo for chits and giggles a while back. It runs fine but ECC memory isn't supported on the Sabertooth so don't expect to use ECC memory.

In short, it works but there are some features that aren't supported by the x99 chipset on gaming motherboards. ECC being one of them. I do not know what other features aren't supported but it'll run fine.
