Well the graphics card is about 2 years old, X800 XT from dell and I had to RMA it about a year ago.. and of course a year later it makes this shitty sound :)

I turned the computer on and heard a fan hitting something so I spent half an hour working with all the other fans just to figure out it was the damn graphics card... is there anything I can do to help/fix this? It seems like its just a matter of time till it dies and I'd rather it last a little bit longer so I can have some time before buying a dx10 card...

whatever u do try to fix it.. My fan on my video card melted, hanging down on a wire because i didn't pay it much mind.. ;0 *Just some friendly advice*

any ideas? I dont want to wait until it dies :( Its painful to hear it grinding against something...

Take the fan out (or unplug it) and keep the heatsink on. Strap like another fan on top the heatsink. You may have to remove the heatsink covering. If you are too lazy to do it just buy an aftermarket heatsink.
