Ive been reading a ton about this card and whatnot, well i'm a big Nvidia fan and whatnot... I would love to get a card for my system that is running aright along with the x1950. My system is AGP, and was wondering what would be my best bet that was Nvidia styled and based right with if not better than the x1950, thanks guys!

For AGP there is nothing from nVidia that compares or even comes close. The 7800GS was their last top-of-the-line AGP card so far. The problem with that is the fact that the 7600GT can easily compete with the 7800GS. So if your gonna go with nVidia it will either be a 7800GS or a 7600GT but the X1950Pro will easily wipe the floor with both of them.

I'd highly recommend you go with the x1950pro, you can get a 512mb version of it on newegg for about $200 open box, and it would be the best AGP video card you can get.

Nvidia's contender would be a 7800GS 256mb, which costs about $180 or higher.

The x1950pro is as far as I know, a good bit faster than the 7800gs, and you could also get a 512mb card instead of a 256mb card from nvidia.

Prices are from a quick froogle glance, so don't hold them to me 100%..

awesome awesome, i've heard the argument that ATI runs some games better than Nvidia and whatnot, wasn't totally sure about all that. I have a antec neopower 480w PSU (ATX12V v2.0), would that run the card that well, or would i need to upgrade it as well?

That power supply is more than good enough. My friend is running a X1900XT on his 3 year old Neopower without a sweat.

While you're at it, why don't you look into x1950xt. The difference between those two version in AGP flavor over here in Germany is around €25. Don't know the difference in US though. IMO it's worth paying for the extra 12 pixel shaders.

x1950 pro is great, unless you can get your hands on a Gainward Bliss 7800GS+, but they are hard to find and pricey. The 7800GS+ from gainward is in fact a 7900gt, pipes and shaders all there. x1950 pro would probably be cheaper though, but take a serious look for the 7800gs+ :)

Yeah, the Bliss 7800GS+ is LEGEN-wait for it-DARY! If there are any left, they were running about $400 in U.S. dollars. On the other hand, 512MB of RAM, awesome after-market cooler, and highly overclockable. Not sure how it would stack up against a X1950 Pro in raw framerate, but the X1950 would have better image quality.
