I got X-Star DP2414LED several days ago just to overclock it and compare with my BenQ XL2411Z.
First of all I dont like this strobed techs like LightBoost, ULMB, BenQ Blur Reduction and etc and I prefer to play fast twitched FPS. (Input lag is noticeable for me with strobe techs i tried LightBoost & BBR).
Im also dont need any Sync techs like FreeSync and G-SYNC. (FPS are 250 or more). Same with panel types. TN is enough for me.
No need to discuss this.
Someday Ive found information about this monitors (QNIX QX2414LED & X-Star DP2414LED) at Blur Busters Forums and decided to try one of them. They are almost equal. The first one released was QNIX QX2414LED 144Hz 1.5ms with DVI-D only. The pros of DVI-D are may be less input lag and better chances to be overclocked. The next released was X-Star DP2414LED 144Hz 1ms with D-SUB/HDMI/DVI-D inputs and advertised ability to 185Hz overclock.
Overclocked to 185Hz and 200Hz. Got some scanlines at top right side of screen. At 200Hz monitor show white screen after 5-10-15 mins
so I switched to advertised 185Hz. May be 185Hz because its stable.
What I can say for sure is that ghosting at 185Hz is much less than at 144Hz. Overdrive isnt aggressive if exist
Ive disassembled monitor to view at panel and scaler.
Panel is AUO M240HW01 V8. Its same as in XL2411Z and in most of 24 144Hz monitors.
Scaler (processor/main board) is different. May be its MST 2403 (MSTAR) - info from EDID.
Default 144Hz timings are:
"1920x1080" 328,890 1920 1968 2000 2080 1080 1084 1089 1098 +hsync +vsync
For XL2411Z timings are:
"1920x1080" 325,080 1920 1944 1976 2056 1080 1083 1088 1098 +hsync +vsync
At 200Hz horizontal scan rate (horizontal frequency) is ~220 kHz and pixel clock is 456 MHz.
