wtf happened to 7850/7870 prices?

Because they are still a hot deal for their performance. Retailers are milking them for as much as they can.
 
what are you saying. in fact the HD 7870 is now priced better at newegg. Good models like Gigabyte HD 7870, HIS ICEQ HD 7870, PCS+ HD 7870 are selling for USD 240. the his and pcs are 220 after rebate. with Farcry 3 game coupon I don't know what more can one expect.
 
All AMD cards jumped up because of Never Settle Bundle I believe.

HD7870 was going for $180 AR, HD7850s for $140 AR, last month.
 
The 7870 from Sapphire hit $185 AR on Newegg a week or two ago. I know because I was pissed after paying $249 for the same card 3 weeks ago from Amazon.

Other than this one incident, I did not see any other deals in this price range.
 
Yeah last week about this time there was a Powercolor 2gb 7850 for 170 shipped before any rebate and Sapphire 7870 for 200 shipped.
