Look at the inspiron 1318 on This link to get an idea of what I'm looking for.

I've seen 15.4 laptops and I think they are just too big and bulky to lug around campus or anything like that. I've also seen netbooks and think they'd be a pain in the butt to type on or do anything useful except... well... the net.

Notes:

---- Dell outlet has 15% off and free shipping right now. I missed the 20% off deal, but I see inspiron 1318's on there in the low 500$ range. You HAVE to be able to beat that "deal" (430$ + free ship for dual core, 2 gigs, 250gb hdd, etc. etc.) but it doesn't have to be spec'd as high. Just has to be a better deal.

---doesn't have to be spec'd out the roof. integrated graphics is fine and 80gb+ hdd is fine.

---Prefer glossy screen.

---Prefer something with DDR2 since upgrading DDR is more expensive now.

Anyway, let me know what you guys have. Thanks!

when i look at the 1318... i think of 1330's fat a$$ cousin...

oh well free bump for you

That's going to be tough to beat because of the size. I'd probably just get the 1318. Personally, I liked the Lenovo X60 or X61 series. The battery life is fantastic and they are much smaller and lighter. I've had the X41, X61, and X61 and I should have kept the X61 instead of this big ass Macbook ;).

Free bump :).
