Don't really care much about anything else, tho I would like to be able to use google maps.
Right now Elephone soldier is the only thing I know about in my price range; It's just a bit excessive on its size.

Suggestions please.

Kyocera DuraFORCE Pro model I suppose. The Samsung Galaxy S8 Active (or the S7 Active) could be found for $300 or so if you're paying attention, depending on what you really want. Realize the IP ratings are limited - no smartphone is truly waterproof, they are water-resistant but for most intents and purposes people consider them waterproof anyway as in a short dunk in water and you retrieve the device in a few seconds time. If it stays under water, at any depth, for some extended period of time it's gonna die sooner or later 'cause water can get into anything. :)

As for under $300, this one came up in a search but I can't speak for it personally:

Seems to have received positive reviews from several big name tech sites, not that that really means much at all but it's something to consider. Here's one:

So I clicked the link because I have never seen the phones and the first thing that caught my eye under the Mediatek P25 was that it said, "Helio P25, the Beast came" :cautious:

I ended up getting this thing:

Think this phone is something like $140 in china.
Should have it in time for my trip over seas. Due to arrive by Dec 4th.

Doogee S60 pros:
Camera
Ram
Processor

vkworld vk7000 pros:
Smaller: 75mm x 158mm x 8.5mm (vs 81mm x 164mm x 15.5mm)
Price
Finger print scanner location (personal preference)
Comes with wireless charger
Android 8.0 (vs 7.0)
SIM is easier to get to

I've never used an Android phone before, so I have nothing to compare it to, but I'll report back when/if I get it.

Interesting, but like so many other Chinese made low cost smartphones, it remains to be seen if it'll even prove useful in the long run. Regardless, for the ~$170-ish price I suppose you could do worse. :)
