Seeing if I can get better than this:
Cpu (AMD A6-7400K $45 on amazon)
Mobo (Gigabyte AMD FM2+ A68H $50 on amazon)

Shipping to 28277

“Upgrading“ an old dell so it has to be micro atx and ddr3. I have a video card already for it so it doesn't even need on board video.

I live a little too far from microcenter for the awesome combo deals they're doing now too :(

If not, any suggestions for alternative parts are welcome as well.

It's for a 5yr old. The current box is an e350 and cannot even play browser based games.

Where is shipping to?
I was getting ready to list some combos.

LMK.

Your links are not working for me, just a FYI.

thanks, I'll fix the links and shipping to 28277

If you're within a gas tanks range of me I can pick them up as well.

Intel G3258 and a cheap Z97 mobo is still a great bang for the buck.

I have a spare machine with that combo and it's very nice, great performance for a cheap box.
I'm running the CPU mildly OC @4GHz. It's a faster CPU than the AMD.

Saw a G3258 starting bid of $25 on Ebay (no, not mine).

Comparison of the two CPUs:

not a bad option, but it'll probably end up a bit over my budget.

OP, pick up one of these dirt cheap AMD 8320E CPU/MB combos from MicroCenter! You cannot get anything cheaper, especially since this is brand new gear. If you do not have a local MC, shoot me a PM and I will glad to get you one as long as you cover tax and shipping..I am going to be at MC next monday anyway!

I might be in atlanta this weekend so if I don't find anything before hand, I will probably do that.

I'll second the Microcenter idea. The 8320E is the best performance for the buck you're gonna snag currently!
