would there be a big difference between 19inch lcd and 20.1 widescreen?

Besides the obvious difference of one more inch viewing area, the 19" has a max resolution of 1280 x 1024 and a 4:3 ratio and the 20" has a max resolution of 1680x1050 and a 16:10 ratio. There is a big difference between these two.
 
Also pixel pitch or dot pitch. Which can make things not as sharp since it is larger on the 19", at least in my experience.
 
so u mean to tell me that the 20.1 inch wide screen things would be sharper on it?

compared to this nec i have?
 
the widescreen will be about 2 inches smaller top to bottom. i have seen a 17inch lcd and a 20inch widescreen lcd side by side and they had the exact same screen height.
 
yeh i have a 15.4 inch widescreen, on my laptop 1680*1050 but some of the text really look small, is it the same with the wide screens desktop?

text size on 20 ws are the same as on 17
