While DirectX 9 has been dropped from World of Warcraft, its developers have added full support for DirectX 12. It is only viable for AMD users, however, as NVIDIA users may enable it but see a performance hit. Blizzard has also removed fullscreen exclusive mode, leaving only windowed and fullscreen windowed options.
It appears that Blizzard has made some noteworthy rendering changes to World of Warcraft, as this massive MMORPG does no longer support the DX9 API. Instead, the team has now added full support for Microsoft’s latest API, DirectX 12, meaning that players can now choose between DX11 and DX12.
