Well this is more of a heating issue, my Barton usually runs at 46 idle and 52 at max load but recently it has been climing to 58. Getting a little scared I decided to reseat my proc under my Volcano 11+ heatsink, removing all the old paste and reapplying it I was happy to see my temps return to 46.
I opened up Word 97 and the temps jumped to 48 not worrying to much I continued to type away making mistakes with spelling and grammer, after 30 seconds of word constantly checking over my work for spelling mistakes the temp had grown to 58 once again...
WTF? Is word's spell check that demanding on a proc? Is this recreateable on other machines or is mine just to weak to run word effectively or something?
