As someone who has the same chair as the OP, I also believe this deal is a steal

Only 90 day warranty?

You can get it for less through Madison Seating's Ebay store, plus it carries a 10 year warranty with free 30-day return shipping: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Herman-Mil...Loaded-hardwood-caster-/120854222973#viTabs_0

I recommend waiting for Ebay Bucks / Coupons too.. they've had the chair this price for quite a while now.

If you go to Madison Seating's actual site, it's (and many other Herman Miller models) even cheaper, and of course still has the 10 year warrenty.

Yea like using a 20% off site wide coupon which they tend to do around June. They usually don't do the large bucks promos at the same time although they sure like to start them the day after. lol

as someone that has a 'C' model that i bought in 2004, you cannot go wrong with this chair. i still use it as my daily driver and other than some dust buildup, its still in perfect working order.

Agreed with the others, I bought one for my wife a few years back and she loves hers. You can go through $500 worth of Staples, Ikea, and Racing chairs that won't last as long or be as comfortable as this chair.

There are a bunch of office resellers and liquidators online, that sell these regularly for a few hundred bucks. I believe their business model is to show up at a foreclosure and buy everything, cubicles, chairs and all, and then sell them online. I'm not sure if there is a counterfeit market for HM chairs (I highly doubt it) but even without a warranty, it seems like parts can fix any issue that a warranty wouldn't.

Does anyone know if I buy the armless one, can I buy arms for them and attach them later on? I guess I'm asking if it's the same identical backing for both and you either attach arms or you don't

Reason I'm asking is my parrots will sit on the arms and destroy the foam/leather...etc. so I'm not sure if it's worth having arms on chairs lol.

You can buy the arms later and attach. I did this with the back support. The arms are pretty easy to remove and attach.

Meh, the Steelcase chairs are much more comfortable for me. The hard front edge on the Aeron gets uncomfortable if you sit up on the front edge.

$500 is still a pretty good deal if you like these though.

Steelcase Gesture with headrest here, a steep price but a worthy investment.

I've been looking for a "new" chair for a while. Now the Aerons are dope, but still 350-500$ used depending on condition. I was able to find a Steelcase Leap V2 for 150$ this past weekend and oh man its awesome, its a very high quality chair. Just wanted to throw out another idea for some people looking for a new chair.

This is my dream chair, just haven't found it at the right price yet. Where'd you buy yours?

it is refurbished and knot 90 day warranty but I bought this chair 10 years ago for $900 and I use it every day for 10 years and it is still in perfect condition.

One of the best chairs ever made.

Parts are easy to find if you need them & they are easy to work on. l

Herman Miller Aeron Chair - $499.99 - Free shipping for Prime members https://home.woot.com/offers/herman-miller-aeron-chair?utm_medium=share&utm_source=app

I have several of these including one I have used for over 20 years. They are an amazing product. I have replaced a couple parts like armrest bolts

I have tried to like these chair, but they're so ungodly uncomfortable for me. I'm 6' and 250lbs.

Steelcase Leap V2 and Steelcase Gesture work best for me.

Got a used Steelcase Leap V1 off craigslist for $60 before. I too prefer it over the Aeron.

So are chairs from failed startups. Liquidation companies will buy the lot for cheap.
Indeed, one might argue buying hundreds of $1000 chairs instead of a cheaper alternative (and similar spending decisions) might have contributed to their failure!!!
