I just got an e-mail from EA telling me that my copy of the collector's edition of Dragon Age has shipped!

Others at the official forums are reporting likewise. So it looks like I might end up getting the game next week after all - I had been expecting to receive the shipment about a week after everyone else, since EA sent me an original e-mail saying that they would ship the game on the afternoon of November the 3'rd.

If I can get the game before next weekend I'll be a happy customer - but that's the last time I'm going to allow myself to panic like that, and order the program ahead of time. It would have been better to have bought the game on day one by walking into the store - but yeah, I panicked.

Oh well, it'll be cool when it arrives in the mail.

Nice. I was tempted to order from them but I was skeptical on the ship date. Guess I get to wait until Best But gets it in now (since Amazon isn't stocking the CE right now).

EA has been pretty good wiht shipping stuff on time. When WAR came out I had my copy shipped from them to here in canada (collectors edition lol) and I had it 2 days before the game went live.

Really, you're in Canada. Me too. I wonder how long it will take the package to arrive. Had I known that EA was going to ship this early I would've opted for overnight air.

Just got my notification that mine shipped,,, and second day air too ! woot ! :D

Im jealous, its not released in the uk till the 7th, have ordered via steam, hope it lets me preload!

If I had known EA was going to ship this thing early I also would've opted for second day air.

It looks like you'll be getting your copy on Monday.

Wow.

... and people here said, why would anybody order from EA... pffffft.

See ya later, suckers!

Way cool! My collector's edition was shipped from the EA store also! I should get it either Monday or Tuesday next week.

Time to hurry up and finish up Batman AA.

ya, that was just regular delivery to, no quick ship stuff. EA seems to be really good with shipping to canada.

Yep mine shipped too, the standard free shipping turned out to be two day air. I fully expected it to ship on the 3rd, so that was a nice surprise.

They told us it was going to ship on the afternoon of November 3'rd. Some of us might even get our copy on Monday.

....Has any one gotten a shipment notice from Amazon? Pre-ordered as a gift so I have no way of knowing! :(

This is the most excited I've ever been for a game...

Mine shipped from EA today as well. First game I've pre-ordered in four years (well I did have a store credit with EA, which made the decision easier).

Mine shipped from Canada - the tracking number says that my package is in transit, and is presently in Mississauga.

So if you're a Canadian, and you live in Ontario, you'll get your package by Monday at the latest - and if you ordered it expedited, then you'll get it tomorrow, on Saturday, according to the UPS website.

What I can't figure out is what 'saver' is? Because it says that that's what my package was sent as. I'll be damned shocked if I end up getting this game on Monday (I'm way the hell out on the coast, in British Columbia). I was all set to wait an entire week for this thing to arrive. If it shows up ahead of time... nah, stuff like that doesn't happen to me.

Yeah, like the guy above me said, I haven't been this excited about a program in ages. Dragon Age was the whole reason I bought a new $2500 computer in the first place. I was pretty excited about Neverwinter Nights 2, and about Oblivion, and, yes, I hate to admit it, Fable (hey, a sucker is born every minute, right), but my excitement for Dragon Age truly knows no bounds. A five-year wait is coming to an end.

I feel like a kid around Christmas time. You just can't wait for the big day, and are wondering how you're ever going to make it through. It's great. :)

It's UPS. Mine shipped yesterday also with 2-Day Air Saver...so I guess I'll get it either Monday or Tuesday.

Why don't you like UPS? I haven't had any major problems with them.

FUCK

I fucking hate UPS. I have nothing but problems with them. My orders can go out for delivery at 5:30a.m. and not show up that day. That happens quite a bit, usually on Friday. I live in CT and an order from NJ can take 3 days at best via ground. I just had a pair of rather large speakers ship from PA via Fedex ground and they arrived next day. I once had a $300 package left on my doorstep, I live in the city. Needless to say that package was not there when I got home from work. The back porch would have been fine.

I'll be canceling this order now. Fuck UPS.

Update:

It's noon on Saturday and I've just visited the UPS website to track my Dragon Age parcel. During the night the parcel was flown across country and has arrived in my city!

Arrival scan: Richmond, B.C.

This means that I'll be getting my copy of the collector's edition of Dragon Age on Monday, one day ahead of the Steam users! Shit that's cool! At one point I was going to order via Steam in order to get the game early, but I couldn't get a straight answer as to whether or not I would be able to pre-load the file. I've also been waiting for this game for five years - and I kind of did want the ridiculous cloth map and tin box (yeah, I know, it's pretty silly... but feeling slightly ripped off is all part of the experience).

Anyhow, nothing ever works out for me - so I'm actually happy for once.

I'll post back on Monday when my parcel arrives and brag about it, so of course I'll see you again on Monday. LOL! See ya later, suckers!

WTF, I hate EA. There is no contact number for the EA store. I just wasted a few minutes on a long distance call to the only number listed on their site to find that out.

QUESTION
How do I cancel my order?

ANSWER

Purchases that are considered preorders can be cancelled. An order for an item that is in stock or ready to ship cannot be cancelled after it is placed.

If you have placed an order for an item you no longer wish to receive and have already been sent a tracking number, please refuse shipment of the package so it will be returned to our warehouse to be processed as a return.

Fuck you too EA. I'm filing a claim with Paypal.

Good news Wabe. Let's hope that the transit/distribution point in Richmond doesn't screw up your delivery like it has for me (two out of three orders). I went through steam for the Digital Delux version. I can wait an extra day or two.

All in all, I am pretty excited about this game. Bioware has never let me down, and I really enjoyed the Baulder's Gate/NWN series. Been waiting a long time for a successor.

That is why I hate UPS. Damn union employees.

I order a lot of stuff from NewEgg, and it's amazing how often UPS will do their arrival scan in Richmond, but then somehow screw it all up and not deliver the order the next day. So yeah, I might end up getting the parcel on Tuesday instead of Monday, which would be a lot less cool.

I've never gotten a major game early - so to get Dragon Age (of all games) early, would be THE coolest thing that's happened to me since I impulsively reached out and high-fived Neil Diamond as he was being escorted down the aisle after a concert at GM Place.

We are preparing these items for shipment and this portion of your order cannot be canceled or changed.

This is the first time I've ever bothered to pay for shipping when ordering from Amazon. I got Release-Date Delivery

Odd,

After getting notification that DAO had shipped Friday with 2nd day air. I find that UPS tracking only now says in transit after no updating all weekend. Says in transit and on time to be delivered tomorrow 11/03. Oh well, still excited.
