wo rma'd 5870 and that fixed grey screen crash ?

My question .. who has rma;d a 5870/50 and it has fixed their grey vertical stripe crashes , hence leading to believe its a hardware problem with the old card and not software ?
example : "I got the crashes and rma'd the card and now the new card under same drivers and config doesnt crash anymore?"
