WMC and WMP playback issues

Trying to play an avi, loads fine, plays for 5 minutes and then I get an error. It plays perfect in VLC though.

any ideas?

You could try to run it through an ".AVI fixer" or maybe install a different codec for whatever codec the .AVI uses.

its just funny that it will start to play it then just stop. didnt think its a codec issue in windows 7.

Well, virtualdub might be able to fix it, or you can try remuxing to another container and hope that works, mkvmergegui might be worth a try for that.

Is your MPC 32 or 64 bit? I've run into some issues when using MPC 64 before, where Windows Media Player would play it fine.

I've since moved down to MPC 32 bit, for some support/compatibility issues as well.

center and player are 64bit.

hmmm maybe if I switch compatibility to 32bit it'll work
