Wireless MAC spoofing on Win7

Has anyone had any luck getting wireless MAC address spoofing working under Windows 7? I've tried on a couple of different systems, ones that allow you to change it in the NIC properties, and ones where you can't (used the registry edit method on those). In both cases, after making the changes, the MAC reported by ipconfig /all still reports the actual MAC, instead of the spoofed mac.

From a bit of googling, it appears I'm not alone in having trouble getting spoofing working under windows7, but has anyone here had any success?

For Win 7 looks like the second nibble (4 bits) has to end in xx10

x2-xx-xx-xx will work

Looks like the intent is to prevent spoofing a physical device, because they (should) be xx0x.

I've gotten it to work. Some drivers are more picky with what you choose though. I gave up on some of those. Search around and see what pattern some people have had to do to get it to work.

I'd verify with wireshark/similar to see what mac is being sent on the wire, as opposed to just what ipconfig is reporting.
