Wireless 360 controller keeps defaulting to second player w/ wired controller in

Nope.... wired controllers and accessories take priority over wireless as far as the Xbox is concerned.

yup, thats supposed to happen. A wired controller will be the first player when you turn on your console with it plugged in. If you want to avoid it, you must turn on the console with the wired controller NOT PLUGGED IN, let your wireless connect as the first controller, and then plug in your controller.
