Winrar is crippled with HT CPUs

I just did that Reg change on my i5-430M laptop. Hopefully it will make a noticeable difference.

I wonder if it's a must to do the registry change or just select "high performance" in power option in control panel?

i think you have to do the reg change.

i used to do this reg change because of suffering performance in World of Warcraft, but i didn't play anymore after my most recent reformat, so i haven't gotten around to doing this, so i took a screenie of what is really happening when WinRARing

So he did report the bug right? There's a beta for 4.1 right now so it would be the perfect time to speak up.

edit: the email address is dev@rarlab.com

Yeah, Big enough difference. I wonder if the 4.01 has fixed the issue? If I had my new parts delivered I will test myself. Can you see if the 4.01 has fixed it?

Guys, 4.01 has been out for some time. Are we running old software?

4.1 beta 3 has been out for over 2 weeks now.

People still use hyperthreading? What's the point outside of single core atoms?????

Winrar runs fine for me with HT on also. Although I am not sure how to turn HT off lol.
