Windows7 RC to Windows Retail: Upgrade or Full install?

Hey Guys,

I am currently running Windows 7 RC, and am going to be getting the retail when it is out.

I was wondering if i can just get the "upgrade" software or the full install software.

Always, always, ALWAYS do a clean install.

I don't think an official answer was given as to what counts for the previous OS. As of now, we don't know if the Vista upgrade trick will work or not, either. If it was me, I'd wait to order Windows 7 until closer to its release date, hoping for definitive answers.

MS came out and said you could use Win 7 RC as a previous software to upgrade from.

That said it'll be a clean install if you do it.

You can only perform a clean install from the RC version unless you change values in the RTM versions inf files to override. Doing so would reneder your configuration unsupported.

I did that on one of my media PCs. On my main workstation, I performed the clean install.
