Windows XP sp2 add/remove programs doesnt work

I was cleaning up my grandmas HP, I had to restart after uninstalling something (cant remember what it was). Then on the reboot I continued uninstalling the bloatware. Problem is even though add remove programs loads up fine the entries no longer have the option to "change" or "remove". Funny thing is everything ive installed after this problem (avg, firefox etc.) has the "change" "remove" options.... please help

You could use a program like RegCleaner to remove unwanted/nonexistent programs showing up there.

I used registry mechanic...the thing is its not programs that arent there anymore that wont allow me to uninstall its programs that are still on here that wont uninstall.
