How can I make the old Win2000 login screen apear as default (the screen you get by pressing ctrl+alt+delete twice). Is there a way? I know many corporations, and offices do the login like that, but I don't know how, could someone explain (I'm on windows XP pro).

    One of two ways:

    1) Join a domain
    2) Go to Control Panel, to Users, to Change The Way Users Log On, and uncheck Use Welcome Screen.

I should have added that option 1 was a long shot...but that's why corporate machines running XP have the 2000-style login.

I'm fairly a noob with this sort of thing. But this should work.

    Start Menu
    Run
    gpedit.msc
    >Local Computer Policy>Computer Configuration>Windows Settings>Security Settings>Local Policies>Security Options>Interactive logon: Do not require CTRL+ALT+DEL

Set that option however you desire.

Yah-- i always forget the MSC. I just found a way vai the registry.

    http://www.winguides.com/registry/display.php/971/

    it says:

Open your registry and find or create the key below.

Create a new DWORD value, or modify the existing value, called "DisableCAD" and set it according to the value data below.

Exit your registry, you may need to restart or log out of Windows for the change to take effect.
    System Key: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon]
    Value Name: DisableCAD
    Data Type: REG_DWORD (DWORD Value)
    Value Data: (0 = Require Ctrl+Alt+Delete, 1 = Disable)

Now i have it on..i love it. you can use tweakui to auto login but as soon as the station is locked it requires teh ctrl+alt+del which keeps people from hacking vnc passwords and such on your system.
    thanks dude.
