Windows Update Can't Install Updates

I partitioned my hard drive and installed Windows 2k on the second partition in addition to WinXP. This caused the XP bootloader to get overwriten with the Win2000 bootloader. I did a restore with the XP disk, fixing that problem. Unfortunately, this rolled my .NET back to v1, which after a bit of dll trickery, I was able to get it back to v3. However, now Windows Update can't install updates! It will download them, but when it tries to install them it fails.

The only help I can get out of the program is "winupdate failed be because of a problem with your computer." :rolleyes:

Any ideas guys?
