Would the 32-bit version of Windows Server 2003 be compatible with an Athlon64 X2, and allow me to have 4 GB of memory addressble to programs?

I know that Windows Server 2003 32-bit can access up to 32 GB memory using the "PAE fix" thing...but I am not sure if this makes it incompatible with a real 64 bit OS. But if it is compatible, then it seems like it would allow me to bypass the limitations of Windows XP 32 bit which doesn't allow more than 2 GB ram for applications + 2 GB for system stuff.
