Windows Photo Viewer stretching images ?

Sometimes, when I use windows photo viewer, it distorts the crap out of certain pictures. Not all of them. the pictures look fine in other programs, just not windows photo viewer. What can I do to fix this ?

Did you rotate the image? I'm pretty sure that happens when the Xresolution or Yresolution field is missing.

You can download ExifTool, rename the exe to
exiftool(-Xresolution=100 -Yresolution=100 -overwrite_original).exe
then just drag/drop the affected JPGs onto it and voila.
 
You may also want to use something like Picasa as your default image viewer. You can drag the pics around your screen with your mouse and it does a pretty decent job at upscaling when you want to zoom in on pics where windows photo viewer does a complete crap job.
