Windows Media Player Crashes with Streaming Files

Hey all,

So, I've been having a problem where WMP crashes whenever I try to either play a streaming media file that is embedded in a webpage or if I just try to play a streaming media file. .asf, .asx and probably others crash when I try to play them. The error says:

"Error signature
AppName: wmplayer.exe AppVer: 9.0.0.2980 ModName: ddraw.dll
ModVer: 5.3.0.900 Offset: 00000005"

I have all the newest Windows Media 9 codecs installed as well as the latest version of WMP. It looks as though ddraw.dll has something to do with it. does anyone know how I might fix this?
 
I have no idea, but isn't ddraw.dll, Direct Draw? And isn't that a part of DirectX? What version of DirectX are you using?
 
I have DirectX 9.0b installed on my computer. I suppose I could have had a corruption when I installed it. Maybe I'll try reinstalling DirectX.
