what is it good for? i had the beta 2 (winxp) installed and updated and still IE was compromised with spyware and hijacks? have i got the wrong idea and defender isn't meant for this? i even went to the MS defender site to see what it was meant to do. It is for spyware isn't it?
i did a complete system scan (and it runs in background) and found nothing.
i then used trendmicro's free online scan and found 100 odd spyware items!
i then used spydoctor and found more than 200 items on my system! granted, a lot of them were cookies (adware, tracking etc) but a few were trojans.
so, who else is using defender?
