Hi all. Quick question:

I'm currently running Vista as my primary OS. I installed the beta 7 on a spare/new hd to try it out. I ended up reformatting that drive, so 7 is no longer on my machine. When I boot up, I'm given the option to choose to load up either 7 (default) or Vista. How do I fix this so it will default to Vista and stop asking me what to boot into?

Thanks in advance.

Click Start and type msconfig and hit "Enter".
In the window that opens select the "Boot" tab.
You should be able to switch the default and delete the old on that form.

To clear that up a little bit, when you go into msconfig, and click on boot it takes you to the boot.ini where you can make changes. You can delete teh Windows 7 from the Boot.ini so it stops asking which one.

EDIT: But be careful and make sure your deleting the right one, or your machine won't boot at all!

No, it does not.
There is no boot.ini on Vista.

It opens a window he can use to check and adjust boot options.

Thank you! I'll give it a try when I get home from work.
