I have a folder that I am pasting files into (all cut and pasted to one folder from various other folders) but is there a way to sort the files by the date last pasted (not the date the file was last saved or modified)?

Btw Is this a suitable question for this forum? Or should I sign up for a windows usage forum?

You could use a script to move and "touch" the files as they are moved to update their modified date and then sort by that. If you need to keep the original modified date intact, I don't think this is possible.

possibly the "Date Created" column will provide that?
You can add that column to details view, then sort by that column.

I just tested by using a txt file I created back in August last year.
Whether I cut/paste or copy/paste in to a new folder, "Date Created" shows today's date, not the last modified date.
I then edited the file and only Date Modified changed.
