Got Windows 7 loaded on the desktop this past weekend and things are great and one by one I got the needed drivers for all my gear. Intentionally waited to do the GPU last since my displays were fine at full resolutions for office work & internet browsing. Installed 191.07 and my 20" keeps its resolution but my 26" will not go beyond 1024x768 or 1280x720.

Current gear:
~Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit
~20" monitor (Sceptre)
~26" monitor (Doublesight DS-263N)
~8800GTX
~nVidia drivers 191.07

Other items:
~Core 2 Quad 45nm CPU (not 100% on which one anymore)
~Gigabyte motherboard
~8GB of memory (G.skill)
~A couple of hard drives

The doublesight should be at 1900x1200 but the drives do not allow it. I can remove the drivers fully and the doublesight can do 1900x1200, I went into the nVidia panel and see if I could force a resolution. The best I could do was 1920x1080 and it would not allow that, tried a custom resolution and no luck. I do not have any older drivers or know where to get them, so if anyone has a link to a more stable drive please share.

Really enjoying Windows 7 other than this one issue with my GPU, would like not to have to upgrade but maybe this is a sign.

Thanks for any help.

Can't help you. I have no problems at all.

zomg ill ask you when i next have a problem...

On topic: I'm pretty sure you can't run 2 different resolutions on 1 card at the same time, so there is no actual problem just a limitation.

sure you can. I'm running one monitor at 1920x1080 and one at 1680x1050 on W7 Ultimate x64 and a GTX285. Unless you mean a limitation of the 8800GTX, in that case, yes.

EDIT: running 190.62 by the way

Question, are you mirroring/duplicating your display or extending? Just asking, because dubbing your limited to the lowest resolutions displays res. Running to different resolutions off of my 8800GTX in Windows 7 (1680x1050 and 1368x768).

I am trying to run two separate resolutions.
Last night I tried just running a single monitors (26") and it still would not allow it to reach full resolution.

Is there a website to download older drivers for 64 bit Windows 7 for nVidia? Maybe another driver will work.

Thanks.

Are you saying the 8800GTX cannot run two separate resolutions in Windows 7?
I had 64bit Windows Vista Ultimate before this and could run 1900x1200 & 1680x1050 perfectly fine with no problems.

i am currently running 191.07 on my 8800gtx SLI setup, 1680x1050 on my lcd and 1600x1200 on my crt, win7 ultimate and everything is hunky dory

I'm not saying if the 8800GTX can or cannot do this - I don't know as I don't own one. I was just saying that I can do it with my GTX285.

OP - I'm extending the monitor and then using a 3rd party app to put a taskbar on the second monitor.

Finally, it sounds like a driver problem. I'd uninstall your drivers and get the newest ones you can for 64 bit.

I have Ultramon also, also have the setup set to extend displays.
I do have the latest drivers, was using 191.07 for 64bit Windows 7.
