We are looking at making the switch to a 64Bit environment as well. Any advantageous to doing so? Say for example on a Server that is mainly just used for Internet pass through.

How many users would be hitting the server, and how much memory is in the box?

Depends what you are using it for.

Are you using the Server as an internet pass through?
Are you using it for a database?
Are you using it as a DHCP server?

It just depends what role it plays.

Obviously a DHCP server can be a crappy little box somewhere... very basic (Obviously not true for all networks... but most).

A database server could be a basic box as well, if you only have a few users using it at a time.

Again, it all depends what it does.

As mentioned- we need to know what it is going to do, how much traffic it will handle, and some of the basic specs.

I have 4 gigs of memory in the box.

And yes, I stated it was being used for internet passthrough.

That should be OK... for most smaller applications.

Actually, you didn't. You said "For example, on a server"...

How many users are going to be hitting this thing, as already asked??? How much traffic?
