which is better memory? i haven't had chance to test them much.. i have 2x512mb of each and both brands can run dual channel on nf7-s no problem at 200mhz+. kingmax is non-tiny bga version bought last week and winbond ones are about 2 months old..

Winbond is better even if its ch-5. The only good kingmax is the bga stuff that will run 2-2-2-5 timings

Winbond can run 200mhz cas2 dual channel at 2.7v no prob.. it's a CH5. Kingmax can only run 200mhz cas2.5 dual channel at 2.7v, cas2 wont run even at higher voltage.
However Winbond max out at 215mhz cas3 :( dual channel at 2.8v (higher voltage didn't allow faster memory setting or higher speed).
Kingmax can run 220mhz cas2.5 @ 2.8-2.9v.. haven't tried any higher yet.

I also thought Winbond would be better but looks like Kingmax is better overall.

p.s. NF7-S only allows 2.9v max mem voltage on bios.. unlike 3.2v on Epox 8K3A..

i know 215mhz cas3 max is disappointin.. would the memory run at faster timing or higher speed if i don't run them in dual channel mode?

A lot of winbond ram hates cas 3 regardless of current fsb speeds. Drop that puppy to cas 2 or cas 2.5 for more stability (and possibly higher fsb). Don't forget that results vary widely and 215fsb is your particular experience. Some people can't oc their ch5 at all. I have 4 sticks of generic winbond ch5 that range between 218-225 fsb cas 2-2-3-7 stable @ 2.7 volts (225fsb is my mobo's stable limit btw).

if it's CH5 you'll probably have to run the RAM at 2-3-2-11 timings for the best results.

When you say 2-3-2-11, which one is 2nd and 3rd one?
Cas Latency Time - RAS -to-CAS delay - Row-precharge delay - Row-active delay?
If thats the case im runnin 210 2-3-2-11 @ 2.7v n so far ok.. if it runs stable im gonna push higher.

btw what a good agp aparture size? i'm currently at 256mb.

ps. winbond ram chips are;
W942508CH-5, 0335WI, 43232750D

210mhz isn't 100% stable with winbond at 2.7v.. i've tried both 2-3-2-11 n 2-2-3-11, or other way around.. haven't tried higher voltage tho.

doh could have bought kingmax pc3700 for same money as kingmax pc3200 i paid last week.. :(

ok i've tested diff setting n,
200 2-3-2-11 2.7v stable
210 2-4-3-11 2.8v 90% stable (prime95 fails after few hours)
210 2-4-4-11 2.8v 95% stable (prime95 fails after 8+ hours)
220 2-4-4-11 2.9v stable (haven't test much yet tho)
225 2-4-4-11 2.9v nos stable (maybe mobo or cpu.. gotta test it with kingmax)
