Hey all, my PC started having boot problems after displaying the loading screen. It would go to a black screen with the cursor. Nothing would happen. I tried booting into safe mode and it did the same thing. Tried various fixes I found online but nothing. Had to go buy a new drive and re-install everything. Anybody know what happened? I am thinking something got corrupted but weird that it hangs after the loading screen. Tried Win7 install disk repair options and kept returning an error that some device was plugged in...only the mouse+kd was plugged in. A few weeks ago on boot my PC ran chkdsk on start, and after that it was fine till the other day. Was that a warning sign of pain and suffering to come?
The drive was over two years old.
Also I want to see if I can salvage the data from the drive. Thinking about buying a SATA enclosure to see if I can get the drive to act as an external drive. Any suggestions on a cheapy one($30 or less) if possible?
