Win 8 Restore, what does it do when you select delete all files?

Im selling a laptop and without a windows 8 disk im pretty much stuck restoring it using the built in tools.

If i use the delete all files options when doing so does it do an actual disk wipe? as in a random write of 1's and 0's to the entire disk?

It's just going to delete the data through normal means.

If you want to be safe, do the delete all files method and let it restore. Go back into the desktop and run something like CCleaner that can "wipe free space" with zeroes.

why would it take literally hours if its just performing a delete?

The restore process is what takes a long time. It's normal to take an hour or two.
