Win 8.1 Video App dropping streams every 15 minutes

Hey all. I don't often have to post a tech support question but this one has me stumped. I use the Win 8.1 Video app to stream video over my network to my xbox one from my Surface 1 Pro. The problem is that it keeps dropping back to the surface almost exactly every 15 minutes. It doesn't seem to be network instability as I tried 2 different routers. I also attempted standard N and 5ghz N. Different wireless channels as well. I tried reinstalling the video app as well. It is fully updated. Any ideas?

Ok little more information. The 15 minutes thing was a fluke, it doesn't always happen then. I tried on a different windows 8.1 machine and the issue still occurs. I've tried the xbox one on both wired (what it normally is) and wireless on two different networks.
