Win 10 Packet Loss Over WIFI - fixed

Having some packet loss on my wifes office PC. Its a week old Win 10 installation with a r5 2600 (specs in sig). I'm using the ASUS Wifi antenna that came with the mobo. I'm using a ASUS RT-AC88U. The router is located in the room above my wife's office. Her previous machine had no issues over wifi so I don't believe its an issue with the router/ISP. In addition, I get the same drops when pinging my server on the LAN. Going over the WAN shows the same symptoms just higher ping times during the spike. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated!

Realtek 8822BE Wireless LAN 802.11ac PCI-E NIC
Realtek RTL8188CU Wireless LAN 802.11n USB 2.0
Linksys WUSB6100M USB

Both Realtek had almost identical results granted the USB using the 2.4GHz. The Linksys displayed similar symptoms but there were more frequent smaller spikes.

Things i've tried...

- Uninstalled/deleted the wifi drivers and tried both Windows and ASUS drivers
- Installed all Windows updates
- Updated BIOS
- Updated AMD chipset drivers
- Disabled the power management for the WIFI
- Checked WirelessNetView
- Last Signal & Average Signal = 100%
- RSSI = -51
- On channel 153 with one other device using that channel (least used channel in my area)
- Disabled OneDrive
- Forced 802.11a/n/ac mode
- Changed Windows power mode to High Performance, Balanced, AMD Balanced
- Reloaded Router
- Tried USB 2.0 Wireless dongle
- netsh wlan set autoconfig enabled=no interface="Wi-Fi" --> I only get spikes every 20-30 pings,

I'm sure I won't get a solid 20ms consistently over wifi but the spikes are very consistent. Every 9th ping I get a spike. I'm not opposed to reformatting Windows and just chalking it up to a weird one off but i'm trying to avoid doing so.

Ive checked the channel and only one other device is using it. I did try two other channels for fun last night, no change.

I forgot to put in my OP i disabled the windows update from other PC option because i do that on every install. The latter part of that link ive done which was what i meant by "disabled one drive".

Thanks for suggestions, still looking.

Edit: Ran the Windows Reset and keep your files last night. The symptom still exists but my lag spikes are only hitting 35-40ms which is acceptable. I'm not sure if it would keep my OneDrive settings disabled and will have to check when I get home.

Edit 2: Also will try to disable searching for networks and updating quality tonight.

I disabled the searching for networks, disabled signal updating, disabled IPv6. I seemed to get in more good pings before the spikes. Spikes still sitting 30-50ms. I'm going to go ahead with the reformat vs recovery and see if its any better. I will be more systematic about my testing after the reformat to see which one, if any, alleviates the issue more. I really don't like the disabling the searching for networks since she would have to enable it every time she went somewhere else.

I'm fairly new to WIFI outside of can I just browse the internet on my phone/laptop. Wife is starting her new job next week and will be working from home. Just want to make sure she doesnt have any issues making her phone calls. I will report back later.

I ran this within the first 30 seconds of Windows first boot...

I don't know why I bother troubleshooting anymore when it takes 15 minutes to reinstall windows. Going to start all the Windows updates/software install. I'll update the thread if I decide to deep dive anymore since I did see one rogue 52ms. Thanks again everyone for the suggestions. Learning is fun, when it works.

It was ThermalTakes software.
