Processor: Intel Core i7 CPU 920 @ 2.67 GHz
RAM: 6GB DDR3 1336MHz
OS: Windows 7 64 bit
GPU: ATI Radeon HD 5800 series
HDD: 300GB 10000RPM

Those are the specs of my current PC. It got excellent cooling btw. What setting will I be able to play BF4? And with how much FPS?

Yes probably at high 1080p, maybe only with 2xMSAA

I don't know what you've been smoking, but pass that shit around.

A 2,67GHz processor? 1GB HD 5800 series? Windows 7? Aim for Low settings. If you care about achieving close to 60 FPS that is.

The CPU is more than enough but that card is the bottleneck

I play just fine on the machine in my sig (i7 860 @2.5GHz & HD 7850). Everything medium and 2x AA (i think 4x, but can't check from work), v-sync enabled on a 1080P 60Hz monitor. I don't really see dips below 60 fps.

I haven't taken the time to try switching a few settings back to high. It set my settings on High by default, but I didn't want to notice any dips. I'm happy, if I had to play on low settings, I'd get around to upgrading. I did have a 5850 like you, but I swapped it earlier this year for about $10 and not much of my time. Grab a 7950/7970/270/270x, sell the spare keys and sell off your 5850.

You are going to want to overclock for sure. My two 5850's strug-alug-lug in BF4 on medium, so I can't say it's going to be very good. I do play at 2560x1440 though, so it might be a little better for you.

You are Vram limited with the 1GB at that resolution. Ocing the CPU will not help him, heck i run BF4 at High on a Core 2 quad at 2.6ghz with a 7950. I get around 40-60fps 1080p.

I've ran BF3 on multiple core 2s... notice a huge difference over 3 ghz. overclock that sucker for sure and get a gtx660 youll be fine

What "5800 Series" card do you have exactly? 5850, 5870? With a 5850, you'll probably be able to eek out medium-low settings at 1080p. With a 5870, probably medium with textures set lower (due to your limited 1gb vram)

Also, you should think about overclocking your CPU -- it should help with FPS in multiplayer.

You're looking at Medium settings, maybe 1-2 Low settings to see sustained frame rate in the 45+ range.

Just try it first and don't worry about it so much. My wife plays it just fine on her A8-5800/8GB/SSHD750GB/ with no additional video card over the CPU at 1680x1050 and her system plays it just fine. The level loads aren't as fast and at full 1920x1080 we have to turn a few things down, but nothing major. Just try it and see.

I have a 5850 and am happy with how it ran BF3, so I will keep this card and play BF4 on low to medium settings. I have an i7, 8GB RAM, windows 7.

that CPU is plentiful for that game, GPU is not

my i7 920 @ 2.6 doesn't see above 40% usage at 1080p, ultra with 7950

6gb ram, win7

To give you an idea, your card could probably be outclassed by a 2gb 7790. That's considered an entry level card I'd recommend for light gaming.

The forum member a couple of posts above me needed to turn down settings on a 7870; a card with more than literally twice the performance of a 7790.

Consider upgrading your card. If you are running a '5800' than you have a big enough power supply to run high end cards like the R9 280x or Nvidia 770. Though if BF4 is your goal, go AMD.

The question is will it run? Yes it will run, but at what settings. Like others have said you're probably going to have to settle on low-medium settings but you can definitely play the game.

I am not sure you will be happy how BF4 runs though.

Overclock CPU + any current/last gen video card should give a nice 1080p 60fps gaming.

One never know with battlefield, you could have the best pc and still won't be able to play due to the shitty optimization.

Ocing his Cpu would absolutely help, I ran the same setup with a 5870 from stock to overclocked on BF3/4 and it made a large difference in fps.

OP! I ran your exact setup, since you say you have good cooling overclock your CPU!
Also please state your exact Gpu specs and Vram, everyone wants to help.
