Will the BenQ FP94VW accept 1080p?

I understand it is 19" and can only display 1440x900 physical pixels. But the FP222WH is known to accept 1080p and scale down to its native resolution of 1680x1050. Yes I know that's actually stretched from 16:9 to 16:10, but it's not that noticeable. This downscale from 1080p (1920x1080) to the native monitor resolution actually looks much much better than displaying 720p (1280x720) on the 22" BenQ's native 1680x1050.

See comparisons below. As you can see, the 1080p downscale looks much better than the 720p upscale. I do not see the need for pay $100 for the extra size benefit from 19" to 22". I'm only interested in being able to play downscaled 1080p PS3 games.

So does anybody know if the FP94VW accept and downscale 1080p over HDMI like the FP222WH can?

Shameless bump for myself. Please help? Anybody have the 19" HDMI BenQ at all?

OK well since nobody gave a #@#$ to reply (or have this LCD :) ) I did some more searching. Lucky I can read Chinese. Found a lot more info here: http://lcd.zol.com.cn/54/545395.html

It seems the FP94VW will accept 1080p over HDMI and also will do 1:1 display for either 16:9 or 4:3.

Both 1080p input over HDMI and 1:1 support, this seems like a good buy if your budget is under $200 for PS3 playing!

First of all there is no 1050p. And yes of course you can downscale. Why not?

you didnt say downscale you said stretch.

and 1050p is shorthand for a wide apsect resolution with 1050 pixels in height

IE, 1680x1050

furthermore you need better "proof" a 1080p image is being downscaled to fit the monitor. neither of your images even show the bezel so you dont know where the image is ending.

there should be black bars on the top and bottom.

I'm not trying to convince anybody anything. I'm just putting down info in case anybody had the same questions as I did.

I just bought this FP94VW.

Yes it accepts 1080p and downscales to native resolution.
Yes it has 16:9 and 4:3 mode. In 16:9 it doesn't use black bars, instead it cuts off a little from left/right side.

It's hella beautiful when downscales from 1080p.

One thing of note: The PS3 doesn't handle scaling the same way the 360 does. Some games only run in 720p even if your PS3 is set to 1080p in the dashboard. I think Resistance and a few other titles do this.

Actually most does this. 720p scaled up looks nowhere near as good as 1080p scaled down.
