Looking to upgrade my video card to a 980 ti and wondering if my EVGA 500w will work.

I would say it depends entirely on what exact 980ti model it is and how high are you planing to overclock.. some high-end AIB models will by itself pull a lot more than reference model..

This is an example.. reference model a total system draw of 372W.. while the AIB 432W without overclock, I've choosen to use the Gigabyte G1 Gaming as it is one of the most power hungry AIB models that clock itself in the land of 1400mhz out of the box, and as shown below it lands also in the 432W total System draw with an i7 3770K highly overclocked to 4.8ghz.. 16GB DDR3 RAM and also SSD so given this, I'd say if your EVGA 500W PSU if its one of the high quality models with japanese (500BQ model in example or BR) you should be just fine and should handle well that combo as numbers should be way lower for your system as your CPU can't overclok.. so as long as you don't go crazy with GPU overclocks you will be good.
