Will 1333 9-9-9-20 DDR3 work at 1066 with 8-8-8-16 timing?

I bought this memory:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820227621

It's supposed to run at 1333 MHz at 9-9-9-20 timing. However, when I go into memcheck86, I see that it's running at 1066 and 8-8-8-16 timing. Will the OCZ memory run without any issues at 1066 and 8-8-8-16 timing? My system seems less stable (system has crashed twice over 2 weeks, Java crashes about once a day) than when I was running another brand of memory:

I am running an ASUS P5G41T-M LE motherboard with G41 chipset. Motherboard states that it will support 1333 MHz overclocked, but I can't figure out how to run at 1333 through BIOS.

Memory sticks come with profiles that allow it to run lower speeds and timings. 8-8-8-16 @ 1066 sounds perfectly within spec of your chips and there should be no issues with it. If it's less stable then run memtest to see if the new sticks have errors.

Should work. If the board only supports 1333Mhz OCed you need to raise FSB speed and set the memory divider to get there.

As long as it's at the rated voltage, keeping the rated timings (9-9-9-20) and simply dropping to a lower frequency should be no issue at all.

If you're really worried, set the timings back to 9-9-9-20 - but even at 8-8-8-16 you should probably be fine.

I don't think my motherboard will allow me to change the memory timing, it's an ASUS P5G41T-M LE...looks like a motherboard purchase might be in my future.

Edit: I found a switch that allowed me to change the frequency, but I don't see anything that will allow me to change the timing. I'm now running at 1333 MHz, but CAS 9-9-9-24 instead of 9-9-9-20...hope this works.

It didn't work...I just RMAed the memory. It might be the case that my chipset (G41) is not speced to run at 1333 MHz, but I expect that the memory should run flawlessly at 1066 as my previous memory did. I just bought the GSkill Ripjaws on sale at Newegg. Hope this memory works out better...if not, I'll be investing in a new motherboard.
