Wii/Wii U Virtual Console Question

I have a Wii and a Wii U in separate rooms. I would like to get some older games on the Virtual Console, But nintendos account system being what it is makes me wonder if it is possible to get VC games on one console and play them on the other? Assuming both systems have said game as part of their compatability list

When you buy a game for the Wii VC, you don't "get it" for the WiiU VC. They are two different pieces of software.

You can transfer the Wii software to the Wii U and play everything in Wii Emulation mode, but it will remove everything from the Wii console.

you will have to move all of your files to your SD card and then transfer it to your Wii U. Some stuff may not transfer correctly... The good thing is that the Wii U emulates the Wii perfectly so you will not notice any difference
