Best Buy listing the basic Wii U for $250
Target has a $50 gift card with purchase of Wii U system

Ask the Target customer service to pricematch Best Buy.
When it rings up at the register, you get the gift card.

I'll try this over the weekend (San Bernardino county Targets), but if it actually works I want to thank you in advance! Been holding out on getting one but don't need the Deluxe as long as external HDD can make up for the loss in memory
 
So let me get this straight, Target is selling the Wii U basic for $250 and you have to a $50 gift card that is basically good for one game ($50).

Thread should be titled "Buy a Wii U at Target for $250 and get a $50 gift card.
 
Keep in mind, depending on how big a dick your local target manager is, Target's pricematch policy does state that if there's a price match involved - you do not receive any promotional gift card offers. Some managers have been known to refuse giving the gift card based on that policy.

thanks OP! my gf is dying to play the new super mario and we shop at target all the time. plus i have the REdcard for 5% off =)
