Posting this from the final version of the Wii Internet channel. Clearer, faster, and sexier than ever!!

...Free through JUNE 2007 ONLY!!

Sorry for the double post, but I just gotta say how awesome this thing is.

All done now.

Really.

Posting from my Wii as well :). I think it looks awesome, I gotta get use to that arrow scroll thing but so far so good. Text improved a little.

So what happens after June? Do we have to redownload and pay or what?

Just remember to download it now, and it'll be free for you. Wait, and it costs. Kinda opposite of the retarded Halo 2 map scheme.

It should be free full stop, i have never known a web browser cost anything!

I'll have to check it out but I was sorely disappointed with the first version.

Same, I really don't see the point when I can just can just go to my pc, when it's in my room, the wii will never have superior web surfing then a pc, so I don't really care about it.

opera?

anyway, it seems much improved in text clarity, stability, and speed. the autohide toolbar and other quick access features are great too :)

Opera is now free, but wasn't before. And neither was Netscape way back when if my memory serves me right :)

That's what I was thinking. It's certainly fruitless typing. The PS3 at least allows a keyboard/mouse but I don't use it as a browser either.
I guess if you're somehow unable to reach your PC it's passable, but otherwise I don't see the point. It's not like people will have internet access and no PC...err at least there can't be MANY people like that.

I've actually found it to be great. My friends and I can be getting some Wii Bowling going on and after we are down, we are talking about a recent post on a local forum, so I navigate to that quickly instead of everyone moving to another room to look on my tiny monitor only to go back to the Wii. Just an all in one stop and shop sorta deal.

I can't wait to get home and download this.

Edit- I just read it allows multiple cursors for the browser. Would be cool for multiplayer browser games!

Just downloaded it. The final version is MUCH improved over the crappy trial version.

Still pretty pointless though, unless I get the urge to know about something right there on the couch I can Google it on the TV instead of going to my bedroom. Then again, I have a wireless network in my apartment so I can just sit my laptop on the coffee table. Oh well, I'm glad I got it while it was free.

For those that dont know, this final version is only Free until the end of June 2007... After that it will be something like a $5.00 (500wii pts) download. I will be getting this when I get home tonight....:D

ALL HAIL THE BLUE LIGHT!!!!!!

I can remember paying $29.99 for Netscape, $29.99 for Internet Explorer (thru version 3, if I recall), I *think* $19.99 for Opera...

yeah pretty much the only Windows browser I remember being free from day one was Firefox.

This is basically just going to serve the porn needs of millions of young gamers like the Dreamcast browser did when it was released. WiiFap.

Those browsers were all for sale, BUT could be downloaded for free, too. The boxed/sale versions had everything on CD (because downloading 5MB used to take all day) and additional support. Still, for 99.999% of users, downloading was no different.
