ohhh I ammm soooo angry! I saw it coming but it does not matter, I feel like being outraged today. And yes I know its the same core so it does not matter a 1066 and 1333 OC to same speed will perform the same. I want to be mad damint and I will !

If you have a board that never advertised 1333MHz support and the manuf has released a bios to enable 1333 support please post and let me know the manuf model number and version (if applicable)

Someone give me a vaild supportable technical reason why ANY P965 board with Vcore adjustments and the ability to do 470 FSB and a decent VRD cannot run a 1333 "Intel spec" buss Core2 or quad other than the manuf on purpose is not going to implement the needed cpuID or microcode in the bios so we are forced to trash a board less than a year old. Even if the board does not understand 1333 BSEL it should boot at some default or per the bios FSB settings. We are being FUCKED IMO:mad:  , but since the data sheets are not yet updated on Intels site I reserve the right to be wrong, but I dont think so.

Found this on the Gigabyte and of course its pure Bullshit, perhaps they did "tweak" the FSB trace routing but since my board can do 475+ FSB just fine my boards signal trace routing seems sufficient and then some.

...While most of the GIGABYTE P965 rev 1.0 / 2.0 boards are also capable of supporting 1333MHz FSB through the latest BIOS update,...
this is interesting from a forum:

This may help u , i have a GIGABYTE 965 DS4 , REV1.0 , and i asked gigabyte , and here is the answer and the questions :

Question :
HI, I am going to buy a 1333MHZ cpu soon , and i have gigabyte 965pDS4 REV1.0 , will it support 1333MHZ with a BIOS update or no?
thanx

Answer : Dear Sir,

Thank you for your kindly mail and supporting GIGABYTE.
About the issue you mentioned in your earlier mail, the CPU is still under developing, once the CPU is launched, will update CPU support list on our website for reference.

Question : thank you , well i live in UK , and an online shop has those 1333MHZ FSB CPU's in stock ,and i want to buy them , so what shall i do ?

Answer : Dear Sir,

Thank you again for your kindly mail and inquiry. In our opinion, please make sure the CPU is official and boxed Intel CPU and at this moment, as we know, FSB 1333MHz CPU is only Engineering Samples and we do not recommend you using such CPU on GIGABYTE motherboard and will not gurantee the CPU will work on GIGABYTE motherboards and any other results.

Question : Thank you again , well Core2Duo E6750 is available for purchase in this site :

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/show [...] &groupid=7 01&catid=6&subcat=793

So as you see it is availabe and thats the CPU i want , so will my MotherBoard support it ?

Please gigabyte , many other manufactures have released a BIOS for their 965P series to support 1333MHZ CPU ,

Looking forward hearing from you

Answer : Dear Sir,

Thank you again for your kindly mail and inquiry. We are sorry only rev 2.x or above MB supports FSB 1333 CPUs.

Question : Oh , i had to buy that ASUS mobo instead of mine , at least that supports 1333mhz cpu's ,
very funny , rev2 and rev3 will support but rev1 doesnt , u made me regret buying gigabyte motherboards EVER , that's the first and the last Gigabyte board i ever have!!

Answer : Dear Sir,

Thank you again for your kindly mail and inquiry. In fact, when you install FSB1333 CPU on rev1.x motherboard, you have to set FSB speed manually. Only rev2.x and 3.x will set proper FSB speed automaitcally. Thus, we do not highlight FSB1333 CPU on our website because of the reason.

Boards reported by forum members /others that have had 1333MHz support added by bios update or works without bios update:
Abit AB9/AB9 Pro
Abit AB9 QuadGT

" In fact, when you install FSB1333 CPU on rev1.x motherboard, you have to set FSB speed manually."
I'm reading that as the rev.1.x will run 1333 fsb CPUs.

Anyway, just sticking to 965s

Asus have a pile but I'll let someone else do that.

aye on the Asus , I have read blurbs where all Asus P965's have had the bios updated to allow 1333MHz, so no need to list them unless there is one that will not boot a 1333. It is one of the things that set me off, BOOM !.

The other thing was that "blurb" from susposedly Gigabtye tech support and this "Gigabyte P965 DS3 Rev.1 not for E6850! " http://www.hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=1213940
