That's a good point. Most of the components we use in gaming PCs are obsolete, for our purposes, long before they reach their MTBF.How often have you had everything on your PC go at once? Not to mention, if you build your computer right, a "hardware failure" becomes a "neccesary hardware upgrade!". :-D
A GTX Titan will last a good 5-8 years in typical usage conditions before failing, but is obsoleted by newer technologies within two. In some cases parts will fail much sooner, but that's not the norm.
